Questions and Answers (FAQ)

Why Virtual?2020-06-05T14:53:53-05:00

We began planning our Virtual VBS before we entered Phase 1. In a normal year, VBS planning starts in March. Decorating, gathering supplies, planning and much more takes months! We waited until May, hoping for the best. Instead, we had to turn to other options, not wanting to see VBS cancelled all together. Hoping to be in Phase 3 by July 6th, we are planning for each child to attend one morning session of VBS during our VBS week. We will update you on that as it gets closer.

Do I have to do virtual VBS all in one week?2020-06-05T14:53:42-05:00

No! During our traditional VBS Week (July 6-10) new videos will be uploaded to our website each day. All videos will be available until August 6th. The company we use is allowing us to publish their material online for 30 days this year. You can complete VBS in one week or spread the days out to have VBS fun the whole month! The music videos will also be available to view online for VBS month.

What will I need?2020-06-05T14:54:06-05:00

You will have the option to order the following: a supply packet, VBS CD, t-shirt. These are all OPTIONAL. During this difficult time, we want to make sure ALL families can participate in VBS. If you choose not to order the supply packet, simply skip the Imagination Station video each day.

We will update the list during the next month, including snack items you may want to purchase in advance. So far: paper, markers/crayons, paper, tape

What is the best way for me to be involved? (Parental Involvement)2020-06-05T14:54:17-05:00

Parents, Grandparents, Caregivers, we need your help to make VBS a success this year more than ever! We will provide the videos, questions and activities. You will be there to lead them.

A few helpful suggestions:

Sit next to your child as they watch the videos.

Answer the questions asked along with your child.

Participate in the suggested activities.

Get up and dance along with the music videos.

Make this a special time spent with your child.

What technology do I need? (Technology Requirements)2020-06-05T14:54:28-05:00

Ok: Phone. You will be able to view videos and access the website. It will be harder to navigate the site, scrolling up, down, left and right.

Better: Tablet. You will have full access to the website and videos. Typing comments in the Conversation Thread may be challenging.

Best: Computer. You will be able to fully take advantage of the features of the website.

What is in the supply packet? (Supply Packet Info)2020-06-05T14:54:38-05:00

Each supply packet includes: 1 set of Bible Memory Buddies, 1 activity for each day of Imagination Station, 1 set of Try This at Home stickers, 1 Tracking with Jesus Bible Book, 1 train whistle

How many should I order?

Supply Packets are $11 each. They may be ordered one per family or one per child. During a normal year of VBS each child receives their own set of Bible Memory Buddies and 2 or 3 activities from Imagination Station. Supply Packets can definitely be shared among siblings! If you have 3 or more kids, consider ordering 2 packets. Also take into consideration how good your kids are at sharing (younger kids may have a harder time with this) and how much “VBS stuff” you want to find scattered around the house after VBS is over.

Can we still have a group experience? (VBS in Groups)2020-06-05T14:54:50-05:00

We encourage you to be creative in how you enjoy VBS this summer. This may include joining one or two other families and enjoying VBS together in a small group. Be sure to clarify any social distancing needs before getting together for VBS. Also be mindful of the trickiness of exclusive groups. As our community expands and we slowly come in contact with more people, be aware of the feelings of others who may feel excluded. VBS is one of the first opportunities for our church to come together again. The last thing we want is for anyone to feel left out. Our theme this year is “Jesus’ Power Pulls Us Through!” This will be challenging, but He will help us through it!

Are their any live activities? (Live VBS Mornings)2020-07-03T19:51:21-05:00

With the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in our area, we canceled the live portion of VBS. However, we still have an exciting lineup of every VBS station available for you to interact with as a family.

Will there be any in person activities? (In Person VBS Day)2020-07-03T19:48:21-05:00

We were originally going to have a small group session with each group spread out over several days, but with the surge on COVID-19 cases in our area, we regrettably felt we should cancel the in person sessions for the safety of everyone involved.
